Jericho Sims Playing Through Right Thumb Injury, Surgery In Consideration

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Mar 17, 2025 12:48 pm

Milwaukee Bucks backup center Jericho Sims is playing through a right thumb injury. The injury is bad enough that Bucks coach Doc Rivers said surgery could be on the table.

"It's a pretty good injury. Probably decisions will have to be made," Rivers said.

When asked if that means surgery is possible, Rivers said "Yeah, it's a consideration, for sure."

In 14 games since the Bucks acquire him at the trade deadline, Sims is averaging 2.4 points and 4.9 rebounds in 15 minutes per game. With Bobby Portis suspended, Sims has filled the backup center role behind Brook Lopez.

It sounds like a mean thing to say, but I think Sims is one of those players who shouldn't be getting rotation minutes, unless

1) The team is really bad
2) Injuries have bumped him up from 3rd center to 2nd center
3) garbage time.
4) Mavericks, which basically combines 1) and 2)

I wish him the best and I hope Milwaukee brings in back for 25-26. Even if they don't, he'll probably play somewhere in 25-26.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

He’s the type of player that would be a good starting C on a really top heavy Miami Heatles type of team. Other than that your 100 percent. He’s what Dwight Howard would be if you turned down 3/4 of his 2K attribute sliders
