The Miami Heat's interest in Andrew Wiggins gave the Golden State Warriors an advantage in the Jimmy Butler trade sweepstakes, according to Tim Kawakami of The San Francisco Standard.
The Warriors ended up acquiring Butler in a five-team deal, with Wiggins moving to the Heat. Kawakami adds that the Warriors didn't have to "bid up" past giving up Wiggins and a protected first-round pick to the Heat.
Wiggins averaged 19.0 points and 4.2 rebounds in 17 games with the Heat.
Butler had 25 points, six assists, and seven rebounds in Game 1 against the Rockets.
