Kings Will Not Tear Down Roster This Offseason

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Apr 27, 2025 11:54 pm

Scott Perry will not tear down the Sacramento Kings roster this offseason, sources told Jake Fischer of The People's Insider.

Perry replaced Monte McNair as the general manager of the team this offseason.

Perry acknowledged the need for "length and athleticism" on the roster during his introductory press conference.

Perry is also expected to decide "within the next week or so" whether to retain Doug Christie as head coach.

That’s the line of the new gm?! Do they plan on signing a point guard? Seriously, stay the course with lavine who will leave at the first chance once he hits fee agency and who isnot a winning player anyway. He should Fire the new gm too

You want him to give up any semblance of negation power? Just tell every gm your plan is to just trade all assets? Comm'n mate. Or better yet, you're the new gm and your message to your players is that they'll be traded- before the actual offseason begins? This can't be your first time watching a team in flux entering the offseason...

He's saying what he's suppose to say for morale. How many times have we seen someone come out and say they will not trade a player and he's traded 3 days later. Someone on this team is getting traded for a pure point guard.

I could possibly see Sabonis asking for a trade but outside of that there's not much flexibility with this roster.

I imagine they will do some moves, just not a total rebuild. Nembhard, Pippen Jr, Tyus Jones would be good PG options. Need a big wing like JMcD. I'd move Zach to Magic just to get off his contract, he is an injury waiting to happen as well. Lavine + the '27 SA 1st for C.Anthony or Anthony Black + Jonathan Isaac would be a good move. Orlando might go for it cause they need scoring/3pt shooters.
