Rockets No Longer Interested In Devin Booker; Have Faith In Jalen Green

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon May 12, 2025 1:09 pm

The Houston Rockets are prepared to make changes to their roster this offseason. Houston knows they need more offensive help to make a deeper playoff run next season.

However, that help may not come in the form of a regularly rumored target. The Rockets no longer have interest in trading for Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.

Houston still has faith in current shooting guard Jalen Green. The Rockets guard is not only five years younger than Booker, but Green is also on the books for $66 million less salary over the next three seasons. In addition, the Rockets have concerns about Booker, after he struggled at points through last season.

Booker wasn't ever in the mix anyway, so thanks for letting the Suns know your position. LOL

Green, flashy and energetic as he is, has a lot of development to do if he's going to get to Booker's level. Time is on their side though, and we'll see how well Green puts in the work.

P O S T U R I N G

This is a smart PR move by Houston, but everyone knows they'll ship Green off in an instant this summer for a genuine 1st option. They just don't want to sell the farm to do it, hence this type of media spin.

IDK if I'd blame the Rockets for this

It was one sentence of a 2,000 word Athletic article that mentioned Durant, Giannis, and Zion all in one paragraph.

And per usual they cited "unnamed sources"

Feels like a nothing burger.

Because nothing says "shooting" like Giannis.

I don't believe in Green, but Booker is worth a lot less than what Suns are gonna ask for.

I would consider Booker more of a really good #2.
