Sam Presti is expected to remain with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the long-term even though his contractual status is one of the bigger unknowns in the NBA. Presti was hired by the then-Seattle Supersonics in 2007 when he was just 29 years old after making his mark with the San Antonio Spurs.
"People have been trying to steal Sam Presti for about a decade and a half. Generally with most executives, there's an idea of how long and what the terms of the contract are," said Brian Windhorst on Threads. "Nobody knows with Sam. I bet there's maybe less than 10 people in the NBA who know the terms of Sam Presti's contract. He keeps it that way. The Thunder keep it that way. Nobody really knows when he's coming up. Or when he's being renegotiated. They've kept it that way for a long time.
"I'm sure Sam has had a lot of opportunities, but I also know very dedicated to winning in Oklahoma City. I think that's where he wants to stay for the long haul."
The Thunder are playing in their second Finals during Presti's tenure after previously reaching this stage in the playoffs in 2012.
