Rick Pitino 'Absolutely Not' Interested In Coaching Knicks

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 6, 2025 5:40 am

Rick Pitino said he was "absolutely not" interested in taking the vacant New York Knicks head coach position on Thursday.

"I think whoever comes in, if he doesn't get to the Finals, it's going to be deemed an unsuccessful season," Pitino said during a broadcast of the Yankees and Guardians. "So, whoever comes in has got so much pressure on them to take this team to the next level, 'cause that's why they're doing it, obviously, in their minds."

Pitino coached the Knicks from 1987-89, compiling a record of 90-74 with two playoff appearances.

The Knicks are reported to have interest in Ime Udoka and Jason Kidd.
