Shai Gilgeous-Alexander On Scoring 34 Points In Game 2 Win: 'I'm Being Myself'

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 123-107 in Game 2 to even the NBA Finals at 1-1.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 34 points and eight assists while shooting 11-of-21 from the field. Gilgeous-Alexander also shot 11-of-12 from the free throw line.

"I'm being myself," said Gilgeous-Alexander. "I don't think I tried to reinvent the wheel or step up to the plate with a different mindset. Just try to attack the game the right way."

It was the 11th game this postseason where Gilgeous-Alexander finished with at least 30 points and five assists. Gilgeous-Alexander assisted seven different teammates, with six assists leading to threes.

"It just shows his willingness to create for other guys," said Aaron Wiggins, who finished with 18 points off the bench. "Obviously everyone sees the points and how easy it may be for him to go out there and get 30, 40 points. When he's out there sharing the ball, getting other guys involved, that's when our team is at our best."

Rick Carlisle added that the Pacers could only hope to slow down his offense in Game 3.

"You can mark down 34 points before they even get on the plane tomorrow for the next game," said Carlisle. "The guy's going to score. We've got to find ways to make it as tough as possible on him."

Game 3 takes place on Wednesday.
