The Phoenix Suns are interested in Jabari Smith Jr. as part of a Kevin Durant trade package from the Houston Rockets, sources told Kelly Iko of The Athletic.

Jalen Green has also been mentioned in trade talks, though Green is interested in staying with the Rockets and building upon his playoff struggles.

The Rockets are said to be uninterested in breaking up their depth for Durant.

Durant included the Rockets as one of his preferred destinations in a trade, alongside the Heat and Spurs.

I'm sure Rockets would give JSJ in a second if they can get KD. But the issue is there - not his age, but his massive salary. So besides JSJ, Houston would have to give FVV after picking up team option, which I don't think they wanna do, but decline and extend on a team-firendlier deal.

Picks are another issue but if I was Raphael Stone, I wouldn't give more than 2 frp. Everything over 2 i pushing it for aging, contract- expiring player. Even if he's a generational talent.
