Warriors Prioritizing Al Horford In Free Agency

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 30, 2025 7:06 pm

The Golden State Warriors have Al Horford as a top target at the start of free agency. Horford's status with the Boston Celtics is uncertain as they take a potential gap year with their contractual reshuffling and the injury to Jayson Tatum.

Horford would he a strong theoretical fit with the Warriors due to his passing, perimeter shooting and defense.

Horford, who is represented by Jason Glushon, has also been linked with the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks.

Last season, Horford averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 36.3 percent on three-pointers for the Celtics.

Warriors are looking to get older?

It would be interesting to see a ranking of teams by average age.

39 year old Horford? Too old, too risky, would rather have Nikola Vučević

Vuc doesn't play defense and his 40% shooting from the three point line this season is a statistical outlier... career 35% from the three.

Quinten Post is a younger, cheaper version, shoots better, has more upside, and is already a better defender.

Horford would be a better addition, if he has anything left.
