Demps Not Ruling Out Eric Gordon Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Apr 22, 2013 5:39 pm

Dell Demps said on Monday that the New Orleans Pelicans plan to use their cap space this summer and are open to trade possibilities -- even those that include Eric Gordon.

"We want to maximize opportunity to use cap space," Demps said.

Gordon signed a contract extension with New Orleans last offseason, but there have been rumors about the displeasure between he and the organization.

Gordon averaged 17 points and 3.3 assists in 42 games this season.

Correction: He signed an offer sheet with Phoenix, warned NOLA not to match, and then they did, thus forcing him to re-sign with them. They deserve all the torment he's caused them. Oh, and Phoenix thanks you!

I went through the list of 30 NBA teams to figure out which ones needed a high-priced, high-potential starting PG and had cap space to afford his rich contract. My list of candidates included Dallas, Utah, Phoenix, Sacramento and Milwaukee (if they lose Jennings and Ellis). Mark Cuban and Gordon look like a marriage made in heaven, no?

Gordon isn't a PG, he's an undersized and oft-injured 2 guard.
