Don't jump the gun. We've been addressing things all day and will resolve that as well.

When you hover over a thread on the home page, instead of the bubble saying 'Unread Posts', it should show the first post of the thread.

Quick reply is awesome.

dream, you likely know this and just have it down the priority queue, but here goes: the entire notification UI is busted for me. (I'm on iPad, don't have desktop handy at moment)

1. Once I bring up the notifications pop up it cannot dismiss it. Edit: I can dismiss if I click the notifications link. Typically popups that are menu-like dismiss if you click anywhere outside them.
2. Clicking the post approval notify items does not take me to them.
3. Mark all read does nothing.
4. Settings link goes to error page.

Overall the experience of reading the forums and posting is equivalent to the last version.

I preferred the previous logo.

I would tweak the design of the basketball front page to look more like cnn.com. I consider that to be a good standard of a site that looks sleek, is easy to read, is easy to navigate, and functions well on all devices. They also have a similar color scheme which would make it compatible as a design standard. There are a lot of little details on their site that look better, for example the banners are a solid color, but they are darker on either the top or the bottom side which gives them a sleek look.

Immediately above the picture on the basketball front page there should be a banner that says "News" so people know that everything in that column is news.

I would also suggest creating more content and expanding the Basketball Analysis section to "Analysis and Editorials". You should be able to find more writers willing to post editorials, in the same style as espn.com and similar sites, on a weekly basis. For example there are at least 3 writers/journalists who regularly post on the Bulls forum and I am sure you could find more on other forums. I think that you could get more hits through google news if editorials are added on a weekly basis. You could also allow some of them to post their same editorials from their own publications on your site. I have occasionally seen some wiretap headlines linked through google news and I think that creating content through editorials to get linked though google news may be a good SEO technique for your site.

I would also consider adding a video tab. There is a lot of good free content that you can link/embed through youtube. The NBA's youtube channel is constantly updated and all of the videos are free to link to. There is also some decent free analysis through youtube such as bballbreakdown. Basketball mixes are very popular on youtube and they are all free to link to.

I've been having to update each forum to adjust the permissions. I think they are all covered. Can you let me know if you are still getting requests?

Looks like you fixed it. Most recent one was 45 minutes ago.

Just wanted to pop in and say that you're doing a hell of a job responding to user suggestions/issues and fixing the problem almost immediately. It's already much better than earlier and I actually like it a lot.

I'd like to make a request, while redesigns are being done. On all forums that I hang out on when someone is quoted there is a link placed inside the quote so one can go to that specific message. On this forum, no such thing exists. Sometimes you want to follow a conversation and you have to go back multiple pages and manually look at where the quote originally was made so you can get the context of what is being said. Can you guys adjust that -- i.e., add a link inside quoted text to where the original quote was made?

Thanks.
After Rose broke both his knees, I gave up on the hope that we'd make it to the NBA Finals again. It will probably be decades before we see another championship. Hello Treadmill, here we come.

It's the shoes!

Can you log in now?

Just failed as of a minute ago, with same error.

100% failure rate on first attempt (7 or 8 attempts so far), with the following error:

"You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to solve the CAPTCHA below."

100% success rate (7 or 8 attempts so far) when entering the captcha.*

Firefox 34.0
Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon 64-bit
same behavior with password manager or manual entry
status of "remember me" or "hide my status" toggle boxes does not appear to matter (had issues with this in the past)
cache cleared frequently when testing

*update: Just failed even when entering captcha correctly 9 or 10 times straight before letting me back in, while I was testing the toggle boxes. Thought I was locked out for good. Gonna keep messing around, so if you don't hear from me again......

*Seems to be back to 100% success when entering captcha (another ~10 attempts).

RealGM Wiretap wrote:RealGM is excited to announce a redesign of our website and branding is now live.
Our website is now fully responsive, which gives users a consistent experience across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. We went page by page, from Trade Checker to our player profile pages, to be optimized for any type of device. The experience on a mobile device is far more intuitive and complete with our redesign.
With unique pages like Traded Future Picks, daily updated Depth Charts and the most complete player profile pages in the world of basketball, we worked hard to make the experience of navigating and discovering information much easier. The search functionality is greatly improved and page load times should be quicker for most pages.
We also worked with design firm Public-Library to update our branding. They created a custom typography and icon system that is an evolution of our diamond logo.
Another change is the typeface for article and news pages that is easier to read, regardless of device.
The forums will be released in the coming days, which will be more subtle than the rest of the site and focuses mainly on improving usability.
We encourage you to give us feedback on the overall redesign on this forum thread.
Finally, the below image shows the evolution of how RealGM has looked since its inception back in August of 2000.

I especially like the drop down immediate options to switch forums...makes it much easier to navigate. I would love for you guys to attempt to get more people involved in the football forum...and now is the prime time. I tried once (in basketball general) to encourage people because I thought Howard would like to see more activity across forums but it got locked immediately even though I was encouraging activity across forums. I am not even sure most people are aware of the football forums but I think either a thread at the top like this one would help and especially one in the nba general forum. Just an idea. Only want to draw more fans to football for good discussion, and maybe get more users outside of here to join up once they see good football discussion. Seems like there are only a handful of people who post there.

I believe I found the issue and put in a temporary solution, but a permanent fix will have to wait until I hear back from our server admin. Fingers crossed.

Speaking as a web developer, for a complete redesign this one has been remarkably smooth. There are always a few kinks, it's nigh impossible to avoid them.
I haven't seen any issues thus far on my kindle fire.
