Its almost ridiculous how many top-5 draft pick players the Heat have accumulated. Oden and Beasley playing for pocket change is a dream come true for every team defending the title.

Imagine that. Everybody and their mama is taking paycuts to play with Lebron. Who else has that kinda drawing power?

I guess Oden and Beasley feel like being a top 2 pick and being an NBA Champion will help them get get paid moving forward regardless of how many minutes they play this season.

Paycuts? Beasley was cut with a guaranteed 9 mil left from PHX's pocket. Signing for over a million on any other team was a no-brainer. Of course, I don't think any other team would have given him even that much.

How can Oden have taken a paycut when he didn't have a contract and his knees are made of rock candy? The Heat can afford to take risks on players that have almost no chance because they are spoiled as far as their starters go. Neither of these players would have made any more going to a different team. They went to the Heat to grab that championship ring by riding the bench all season. That's if the Heat can win again.

Beasley is at a low point in his career after getting cut from the suns. He lost all that money but, playing with the heat might help him turn it around. He'll need to if he hopes to get any minutes on Miami. Going back to the team that drafted him might help too.

PG - Chalmers, Cole
SG, Wade, Allen, Jones
SF - James, Battier, Beasley, Ennis, Griffin
PF - Bosh, Haslem, Lewis, Varnado
C - Oden, Anderson, Anthony, Hamilton

But, they do need to cut two players before the season starts.

Once again, championship or bust kind of team. No real weaknesses. Damn you Miami.

You gotta think Shard and J. Anthony are gone.

Sorry to interject but that is not Miami's depth chart. Oden won't be starting at center, Bosh will. Haslem will start at power forward and I would imagine Beasley will back him up. Jones is a small forward, Ennis is a shooting guard. Varnado, Hamilton, Ennis, and Griffin are far more like cuts than either Anthony or Lewis.

I was just trying to state their players more than their lineup options. Bosh is a natural PF, and plays C with Miami because of how small they are. When he is on the floor with Birdman, he plays the 4, where he is most comfortable. I don't know about the cuts, but I imagine they would cut two of their non-guaranteed contracted players. I put Jones at SG because in my opinion, he would be better at the 2.

But consider this - who else is GETTING this kinda talent (Oden, Beasley, Birdman, Allen, etc) at bargain prices? Not LA. Not OKC. Not SA. Not Indy. Not Chicago. Not NY. They all have to pay full price. Even the Big 3 THEMSELVES are on a discount. And all they really have to do is give Lebron a breather throughout the regular season. There's no pressure for either of them.
