The best thing that the NBA can do is not allow games to be shown in China, but elite players in the NBA like Lebron and CP are so greedy that they are more concerned with making money than actual human suffering.

I wholeheartedly agree with their stance on Black Lives Matter, and the racist idiot that is destroying the US from the oval office. But they continue to suck up to China in the name of cash - when they are already rich beyond comprehension. This hypocrisy is just mind-blowing, and shows that the top NBA players really are trash as human beings.
This seems to be driven by the ultra-wealthy in the league, I wonder what a true union that represents the average players would be doing in this instance, not one that only seems to care about the top 1%.

History will judge the NBA poorly in regard to their stance on China.

Money is the foundation of business. Money will always win. China has money so organizations will cave and cater. Money makes the world go round.

Meanwhile Mark Cuban continues to publicly serve the Trump administration. Lastly Trump seems determined to spark a war with China. What a mess the Nazi elite are making.

Meanwhile China was unprovoked by the recent drum beating from the Australian+German+US governments. China's response was to mock us in a recently released video from their government; they are not confused.

A third of a billion dollars is a lot of money to toss away. Rather than hire Ma, perhaps the NBA should 1) pull the Rockets franchise from its insolvent Texan owner, 2) put a muzzle on its other Texan owner (Cuban), and 3) de-couple itself from Trump. In doing so, it could earn $300M. Then the NBA owners wouldn't suffer so much, as the commish wishes us to believe. Yet the NBA owners seems more committed to their extreme political agenda than to capitalism.

When you have superstars looking at their own pockets who's going to speak out in the name of "social justice"?
qing james is bending over backwards, and would rather literally run over morey than hurt his brand in china- since he is trying to catch the popularity of kobe, curry, and jordan there.
kawaii's trying to speak mandarin for $$$, and isn't allowed to wipe his ass without his uncles consent.
liberal warriors curry and kerr are suddenly quiet after being so vocal about trump, especially since curry has been the most popular player the past few years in china.
meanwhile the chinese government sees the whole covid aftermath as a sign that their iron grasp should not be loosened and is superior to democracy. :banghead:

What does chinese communist government want nba to do? Fire morey and embrace communism? Lol.

Whole world is suffering from the communist government's irresponsibility in reporting about corona's severity in time. And knowing how US military likes to show their power, they just earned themselves a friendly visitor in south china's sea. Ughhh cold war 2 here we go....

As a former world traveler your point about the people is the correct answer. When China shuts down the nba the folks they really hurt are those without the freedom to watch in China. I really dont have a problem with morey. Although i do not believe he'd have done it if he knew what he was doing.

But yea Lebron and others cant be the social justice warriors they claim to be and also bow to communist china. It also shows Yao, who knows better, is also a lil biatch who instead of manning up will stay silent.

The NBA has the wrong leadership at this time. We all have a moral compass and it’s great for a sports league to try to inspire people. However the NBA has lost its balance. It is an entertainment product first and foremost. It is a business enterprise that needs to identify and cultivate customers and retain them with a quality product and service. No one is paying them for a class in social sciences. The NBA has issues with fans paying high prices to see G league talent play (in the name of development) and superstars sit for “rest”. This does not happen in other pro sports. Other sports use minor leagues to bring their 19 year olds up to major league standards. The last collective bargaining agreement promotes roster turnover to match salaries. It’s musical chairs with the rosters in a sport where the players personalities have a more intimate relationship with fans. No pads, helmets or caps. Need more stability to take advantage of that opportunity. I’m not even getting into the replay mess. Hopefully this recession will bring a new commissioner who refocuses their NBA on the product for the benefit of its paying customers including its Chinese customers..

The people of the USA getting only a small taste of what it's like to live in Canada and have puppets of China like WHO and Theresa Tam to be in control of your country, including its health policies, and thus allowing the COVID-19 to take control of the entire country. The USA is lucky they have a strong leader, someone who is actually willing to take a stand against China and their virus and not give away control to them, someone like Trump.

A strong leader? Who? You can't be speaking of Donald Trump. You can call that man a litany of things but a strong leader is not one of them. A strong leader doesn't need Russian help to win an election. A strong leader doesn't talk down to average Americans. A strong leader doesn't sit back for a month and half before doing anything about a virus ravaging our country. And I could go on and on. Trump is a pathetic individual that has little to no concept of most everything outside of his wealthy bubble that he was born into. Strong leader? I really wonder wtf goes thru the heads of the folks that actually believe that BS.

Because sadly there's a growing number of people who side with country's like China and who support Communism and thus would cry and scream racism like they do everything else that disagrees with them. This very post will solicit a triggered response but I agree with you.

China certainly is a dictatorship that sprung from a Marxist beginning. But their economy is so far removed from the concepts of communism it's ridiculous.
that’s because you can’t be a successful country with an economy built around socialism or communism. It’s a failed concept always has been and always will be. But yes I was referencing his oppressive reach all the way to the USA, to a citizen who has every right to say whatever he wants.

Right...economically speaking....
