Just a reminder that Wiggins is still negative value. Most teams would avoid trading for him, not kill to have him. I know Golden State loves him, but if you need to use his salary it costs you not adds to the package.

Not sure if I agree with trading for Beal.

Golden State had mentioned their interest in Siakam already. It would give Golden State a lot of versatility and the Raptors youth to build on.

That might be too much. Maybe Wiggins and the draft picks for Siakam...

Seems like an entitled attitude. Maybe management should see what kind of first round picks they could get for the big three.

So they really want to go small ball, eh? I guess that's fine but could cause defensive issues. I'm surprised they want to add another guard to the backcourt when they already have Steph & Klay.
SELL THE TEAM, JIM!!! :curse:

that'd be the dumbest, most short-sighted thing the front office could do. Using the picks to inject young talent into what is already a great starting five (provided Klay comes back healthy) is the more prudent thing to do and gives them better depth, helps their salary cap, and protects them for the future. It's not like Steph and Klay are 35 y/o.

It is definitely a shortsighted strategy, however, there is no guarantee that the 7th or 14th pick will contribute immediately, or even at all. Beal is a top 20 talent and guaranteed difference maker. Plus, Beal is only 28 and in his prime. He could remain a focal point for the franchise for the next 5-7 years. I do think it's worth waiting until draft day to see if any top prospect falls to 7 prior to making the trade, but ultimately I would do the trade.

That price is too steep. Wiseman alone has more upside than Siakam, and could possibly already supersede him this upcoming season. Siakam really only had 1 solid season before getting paid and had a disappointing season last year. I think Wiggins and the 7th pick for Siakam is fair.

If the Warriors miss out on Beal or Lillard, what is everyone's thought on these deals:

Wiggins + 14th pick
for
Harrison Barnes + Delon Wright

or

Wiggins + 14th pick
for
Gordon Hayward

or

Wiggins + 14th pick
for
Jerami Grant + Mason Plumlee

Might as well keep Wiggins...these moves won't help.

I think Beal is an overrated asset, though he may have the most value to a high level contender like Golden State. But I can't see GS paying the kind of package most here are talking about. Maybe a S&T to get somebody like Tim Hardeway. He's a lower quality version of Beal on the offensive end, obviously. Less a shot creator and more a shooter. But GS generally doesn't need any more players who can make their own shot, they need complimentary players.

To work, you'd have to add salary balast from GS. Not sure who their bad contracts are aside from Wiggins, and it's not that bad. Mayabe Wiggins and the 7th pick for Hardaway? I could even see the 14th pick in place of the 7th is a good shooter like James Bouknight is still around (though I doubt he will be). Ziaire Williams might be a more realistic, and more risky, prospect at 14. Not sure I'd pull the trigger on that deal, but it's found money for Dallas if Hardaway is leaving anyway, or they can't sign him.

Deal would preclude GS from making another big splash trade using Wiggins as salary, so they might turn it down hoping to improve on it later. But it's not a bad return, all things considered.

I think both of the first two deals look pretty good. And far more reaslistic, and less expensive, than Beal.

Gsw wouldn't trade Wiggins for thj, let alone along with a lottery pick

Because it's nothing more than a rumor lol. They just insert whoever is the top free agent on the overall list because my Ws got the most asset to trade right now.

We need more of a scoring big who can defend some rather than a scoring guard who can't defend.
