Exactly, in this case smart to keep those options open and knowing you have the flexibility to do so. On the other side of the table, this is on Philly - how can you trade away three valuable assets not knowing the main asset of the deal is at least opting into his contract - ON TIME - for next season?

To be fair he meant to fax it from the club.

Its no doubt the club's fault for not having a fax machine.

He probably thought filing a paperwork is as easy as tossing singles on the stage

How did Philly not verify with the league that he had signed in for next season before the trade was finalized? Poor Embiid having to deal with “the process”, all the injuries, a complete over haul of management, coaching changes, then the Ben Simmons drama and now in his prime chasing the MVP trophy and he gets stuck with a bloated worn down version of Harden who won’t even commit past 30+ games but maybe Embiid will finally get discouraged and Philly trades him for Dame lol.

How does that guy keep getting jobs and be considered good at it. Wow that's a big miss. Harden better end up loving it there.

Morey isn't owed an apology, he got fleeced either way. Curry, Drummond and two 1sts is a pretty good haul for this Harden. Simmons was a throw-in. Saying Morey got Harden for Simmons is like saying I got my new car in a trade for my old car without mentioning the extra $25k it's going to cost me.

He'll opt in anyway, but this kind of just makes me laugh.

Lakers at this point are better off keeping all their future picks and trading LeBron and AD to get more assets and picks to build off.

You think POR would trade Lillard for Westbrook and two distant future 1sts? They are bound to get at least 10 better offers.

Never mind... I just looked at the last few deals POR made. This is definitely happening. :banghead:
