LOL, even if it's true, are you just going to gloss over the fact that this year's #1 overall pick is a Torontonian, or that Wiggins, the #1 pick coming up is also a Torontonian? Or #4 overall pick Tristan Thompson also being from Toronto? C'mon man. We may not have a million up and comers, but we're also 1/10th the population of the USA. To produce 2 consecutive #1 picks is nothing to scoff at. The stereotypical American ignorance and egocentrism is alive and well.
When Vince Carter was playing for the Raptors, they were #2 behind hockey, and had games broadcast on ESPN. Kevin Durant grew up a Raps fan, largely because of that. I think the negative perception of basketball in Canada or Toronto only refers to the lack of competitive teams. If we had Vince and T-mac together all those years, you don't think Toronto would be near the top of FA destinations, or ESPN, or Sportscentre etc. etc.?
