And they are complaining? Wtf?

Orlando vs Denver the other night:

DEN: 37 FT
ORL: 8 FT

You guys act like you can compare free throw totals apples to apples...

You're not going to take play style into account and look at the actual quality of the foul call?

The Rockets were getting their typical B.S. calls on the perimeter. Lakers play a more aggressive style that attacks the paint.

No one is arguing that the foul totals weren't somewhat similar.

The argument is that the Rockets could have easily shot just 22 or so free throws if they weren't getting the perimeter foul calls.

I'm not saying this is why the Lakers lost. But Harden getting these calls on contact he initiates on three point shots, etc. is objectively wrong, and the overall free throw total has nothing to do with that.

I disagree, the fouls Harden, Paul, Gordon, etc.. draw are ridiculous. There needs to be an end to it, it's ridiculous that you are supposed to have your hands behind your back to guard them, but you guard any other team with your hands up? I don't watch the Rockets a lot, because I hate watching these guys, but I do feel in the games against the Jazz, that there has been some improvement, I don't recall seeing so many BS calls in their favor. I can't speak for their game vs LAL, because I didn't watch that game, but it wouldn't shock me if it was the case. I remember Mitchell guarding with his hands behind his back in the last game, and being applauded for doing that, I think it's crazy, if I did this in a game, I'd feel like it's lazy defense because I'm not trying to deflect the ball if given a chance, plus you don't look like much a threat since you don't have your arms ready for a block.

Not using your hands is not easy. It forces you to move your feet and stay balanced, not reach, etc. It also probably doesn't ahve the crazy effect that you might imagine, because this is only for the players that are covering the person with the ball, not those playing off-ball.

There should be some level of sportsmanship with accepting that the game is over and you don't need to call out officials for errors that 99.9 percent of people officiating the game in real time would make. Maybe accepting an incorrect call against you is hard and you might show emotion at the moment, but any whining that spills over outside the game into interviews and social media is just a strategy designed to get that 'make up call' the next game. That make up call you see in games is sometimes a lot worse than the original call and leads to an endless cycle of make up calls back and forth until the soap opera is over.

I disagree completely. This is the top league in the world and the refs are supposed to be the tops in the world too. If players get fined for whining about bad calls then the ref that made the bad call should also get fined if it is found that the player was right. If it happens too often they should be out and give someone else a shot at it. I've seen many games where the tempo late in the game dictated by the refs has fueled huge comeback wins. When one team is getting a call every single time down the court and the other team gets no calls at all even when they are obviously fouled right in the ref's face, there is something very wrong with that picture.

When you're built like a tank like he is, you absorb a ton of contact where fouls aren't called going to the hole. LeBron doesn't use the set of tactics harden does to get to the line.

A quote from ice T. “Don’t hate the playa, hate the game.” For The people Who bitch to much about the calls on how people play. Harden has figure a niche and it works for him. This is not like hack-a-Shaq moment that the NBA needs to seriously address. In any organized team sports, it’s part of the game. Do not tell me that you like player you never sold a call or gotten a favorable calls.

At the end of the day it’s part of the game unless they eliminate refs, it is just the matter of who sells it better whether you like it or not.

'sport' 'game'. Pfft. It is an entertainment business, not that far removed from 'pro' wrestling. If it was a real sport, games would be called 'differently'. There wouldn't be 'star calls'. Draymond would have been called for putting JV out of the game for a month.

Also, LOL at LeBron trying to protest calls from the refs. There is no other player in the game today who has received more phantom calls from the refs.

Didn't hear Lebron protesting then.

Its ironic, off all players in this league lebron thinks he needs to whine about preferential treatment. How often did he foul out in his career, remind me pls? Yes that guy who routinely runs over people ...

Harden draws real contact wether you like the way he does it or not. LeBron in contrast is blatantly flopping on no contact or ridiculously exaggerating the slightest of touches. Stop right there you "not even close to a leBron fan" boy.

How much have the Lakers been fined for showing up the refs in the game, complaining to the refs during the game, and continuing to talk about the refs for 24 hours after the game? Oh, nothing? Oh, okay, cool. Smh. The pettiness and entitlement from the Lakers is nauseating. They were called for three fewer fouls than the Rockets. Unfreakingbelievable. Especially coming from LeBron, the GoAT of Phantom Calls. He hit Harden's arm and stepped under his feet on the dagger that put the game out of reach. He fouled Harden twice on that shot. Was he called for it? Nope. The Lakers disgust me. They get all the calls at home, they get all the calls when games aren't nationally televised. The league tries to make it a little less obvious when they're on the road and on national TV (though they STILL get the benefit of the whistle), and they just can't deal with it. Over and over I've seen the Lakers win games this season when they were outplayed, because the refs kept them in the game. I started the season watching every Lakers game as appointment viewing, but eventually I couldn't take the bias anymore. I've been avoiding them when possible. I watched last night because it was the Rockets and I knew the whistle would be closer to fair in Houston and on TNT.

Not NBA zone, either. College zone. Tyson Chandler just sits in the paint and guards no one. It's pathetic. I don't understand why guards don't point it out to the refs.

The Rockets were actually whistled for three more fouls than the Lakers! Just disgusting how entitled the Lakers are.

This makes me thrilled. The rockets get so many bogus fouls in their favor. The nba can’t ignore Lebrons commenting. Maybe we will finally get a rule change or at least floppers fined after games

If the Lakers are against bogus calls they should vacate a few championships they were gifted.

Isn't the whole point of the NBA a show for the viewers and scoring as many points as possible, meaning fast basketball? Fouls shoulnd't decide the game winner for that matter.

Which part of my statement is not accurate in your opinion? Unfortunately you failed to address any point made, "LOL" does not count as argument in my book. Do i really need to link you to some of Brons best phantom calls and flops?

SMH, people should invest a bit of time in studying the actual RULES of the game. Harden is not pleasant to watch but all he does is exploit the weaknesses in the rule set. Its like KD's infamous swing through, or DWade lunging side ways into people to draw contact. Its not their fault they use it to their advantage; thats their job as professional players. Its not the refs' job to ignore violations either. The league has to make an effort to improve the rules. This season, they actually made them even worse.

A grown ass man who constantly talks about greatness and how he is an icon and whatnot crying like a little baby and flopping all over, while he himself routinely runs over people without ever being called for HALF the fouls he commits is an embarrassment to the game on the other hand. I'm not exactly a Kobe fanboy but that is weak stuff he never needed.
