After arriving to his home after celebrating his 29th birthday, Chris Bosh found he had been robbed of $340,000 worth of jewelry and purses, but his 2012 NBA Championship ring was left untouched, Miami Beach Police said Thursday.

Although Bosh's championship ring was not stolen, the thieves picked what they wanted from his jewelry box.

"We are leaning on the side of this being an inside job," said Miami Beach Police spokesman Bobby Hernandez.

Damn. I'd be pissed if I were him. $340K is $340K no matter how rich you are. At the same time, at least it's less than 2% of his salary this year. And who knows how much of it he'll even end up having to eat when you start considering insurance.

Anyway, looks like Chris needs to get his locks changed and make some serious cuts to his entourage.

The fact that the championship ring wasn't stolen definitely shows this was an inside job.

thieves probably figured the championship ring would lead to them getting caught. i say not an inside job.

Most likely was an inside job. A nba championship ring is 24 karot gold. Only sentimentality could cause some to overlook something so valuable.

Plus there's probably other information that the authorities have which implies this being an inside job; his being gone during a birthday bash would certainly give the thieves plenty of time to peruse his house.

In anycase, why Chris bosh? I find this idea fascinating. Chris bosh sometimes gives off the vibe of making a conscious effort to act tough, relaxed, or confident. He does it with his over-the-top gestures when the cameras on him, his sometimes arrogant statements about himself and his lack of better judgement; and his penchant for self improvement books that make you more successful by stepping on others. In short, Chris bosh can sometimes come off as irritating. Not to me, personally, bug I can definitely see how someone could utter an epithet about him.

Again, I only point this out because it strikes me as a curious anthropological artifact of human culture. Is it boshs awkward brontosaurus like neck and straw thin posture that initiates this prejudice against him?

Who knows....maybe my view of him is purely subjective.

This.

Imagine trying to sell a championship ring on the black market... would take literally the minimal amount of research to find out where it came from. Police, jail, etc.
