Syracuse sophomore Michael Carter-Williams currently believes Ben McLemore of Kansas should be the No. 1 pick in this year's NBA draft, and still, he is confident that he can elevate himself to as high as the top pick.

"If I go in the pre-draft camp and kill it and do the things I know I can do, I don't see why not," Carter-Williams said on Wednesday.

"With my size and length I can affect the game in a lot of ways. My IQ for the game is very high. I think that will help me out a lot."

Carter-Williams' 24-point performance in Syracuse's Sweet 16 upset of Indiana helped raise his stock in the minds of NBA general managers.

"His size for position, vision and ability to deliver the ball will get him drafted in the lottery," one NBA general manager said.

No potential #1 pick would have put up a dud game in the Final Four. He had 2 pts, 2 assists, and fouled out against a relatively porous defense in Michigan. I can see him being a decent backup PG, but you don't spend a top 3 overall pick on backup players.

At least he doesn't have an inflated ego or anything.
