Beilen Advises Burke, McGary, Hardaway, Robinson To Put Faith In NBA Draft Advisory Board

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Apr 11, 2013 3:47 pm

John Beilen said that Trey Burke, Mitch McGary, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III are currently being reviewed by the NBA draft advisory board.

“We were very proactive and met with them that next morning (after the NCAA title game loss in Atlanta) before we got on the plane to come back,” Beilein said. “I advised them all they should all go the NBA advisory committee and see what they think, so that’s the process right now.”

Beilein said there has been no feedback yet, and it will be confidential when it does come back -- but that will play a large role in the decision-making.

“Let’s find out from the real guys that know it,” Beilein said. “They have been so accurate in the past few years as to what their advice was to our players and many players, so I do trust it.”

OMG!! Really? You need a board to tell you that you should stay in school at minimum one more year? None of you cats are ready for the NBA. Laughable.

Burke isn't ready? Ok...

But being ready isn't the big issue. It's risk vs reward for next year. Will their draft stock ever be higher than it is now, relative to other players in the draft?

All 4 are gonzo if they are smart.

What? If you go to the NBA unprepared you will fail miserably. No room for a mistake. You know how many guys go early and amount to nothing in a season or two in the NBA? It's one more year versus the rest of your life. No brainer.

So what makes you think they will be more ready next year? What if the look the same or worse? Then they lose a year of "potential" and a couple mil...anybody that doesn't leave when viewed as a lottery player is a fool, especially in a weak draft.

Or they break/tear something and never get paid. If you are projected in the lottery you come out, simple as that.
