Byron Scott: 'I Don't Think I Got A Fair Shake' From Cavaliers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Apr 19, 2013 6:02 pm

Byron Scott was fired by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday and the veteran coach believes he was not given a fair chance to turn the situation around.

"I'm disappointed, more than anything,'' Scott said in a telephone interview. "I don't think I got a fair shake.''

Scott will pick up things from his Cavaliers office before returning home to California on Saturday.

"I'll land on my feet,'' Scott said.

"I'm a straight shooter.''

He's right. He dealt with a lack of talent and a lot of injuries. CLE hired him, in part, because he wasn't a pushover-coach. He was and is a disciplinarian. I was hoping he would coach the Lakers before he signed with the Cavs. He'd be a great fit for them. Experienced, successful, defensive-minded, no-nonsense.

I wonder if Irving said something to get Scott the boot.
"A winner listens. A loser just waits until it's their turn to talk."
