Rob Hennigan has been risk-averse when it comes to acquiring players with injury histories, but according to a source with direct knowledge, Hennigan wouldn’t be afraid to select Nerlens Noel with the Orlando Magic’s lottery pick.
The Magic finished with the NBA’s worst record (20-62) and are guaranteed one of the top four picks -- with a 25 percent chance of receiving the No. 1 pick.
Noel is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered on Feb. 12.

Probably a chess move by Henny for possible trade pieces.

What possible good could come from declaring that there is no way you would consider drafting Noel because of his injury history leading up to the draft?
To my knowledge Noel and his representatives have not allowed a thorough physical by any NBA teams and until that happens no team will have enough information to make an informed projection to the long term status of his knee.
