He should play for one more season to make it an even 20 year career. And do the knicks still have to pay his salary for the next two regardless of if he plays or not?

No his salary comes off the books after a certain date and gives u cap space

I would have loved to see Hill and Kidd retire together at a co conference and go out like the came in

Kidd would make a great head coach.
His off-the court history, may hurt his chances working at the broadcast booth or with ESPN or NBA TV. But he should land a head coaching job within a year or two no problem.

Kidd stole grant hill's thunder retiring this month. No one is going to be talking about hill anymore on tnt or espn.

I agree with the comment that he retired in the playoffs. it was time to leave the game if u go what 3 or 4 games without scoring a single point. great career is in the making. top 5 best point guard ever. one of my favorite players ever. but its nothing left to prove. and hes done. the thing I don't like is that nate robinson will definently join them now. him and felton make a dangerous backcourt. with jr smith already being a huge scorer off the bench. I think nate puts them over. im in mcdonads using wifi and I just heard someone say chris Anderson is better then chris bosh. ring the alarm

How can you call Jason Kidd a bum if he's a 10 time all-star? And an NBA champion?

I can say with virtual certainty, absolutely not he wouldn't.
As I'm sure the other StJoe's alum in the thread will back up (btw, PILOTS!!
), Kidd was not very kind to his former schools. I accidentally followed him to HS and college, and while I was roughly 10 years behind him, I know that he was not very fond of coming back to help out with the LaPorte program (rip laporte) or anything involving Cal either. The few events he did do, he was surly, unhelpful, and just a straight up a-hole.Being a good player doesnt make you a good coach. Rick Barry is living proof... being a coach means being a good motivator and leader. While Kidd was an exceptional player, his character is extremely poor and I wouldnt want that kind of person near my team.
