Doc Rivers is waiting on Danny Ainge to make several key decisions before fully committing to remaining as head coach of the Boston Celtics next season.
Ainge has to decide whether to renew Paul Pierce's contract by June 30th and whether to bring back Kevin Garnett. The Celtics may feel that this is the offseason to begin rebuilding.
Garnett has not had surgery on his left leg, believing rest is the best solution. Rivers and Garnett have an extremely close relationship.
