Len Believes He Has Most Upside Of Any Big Man In Draft

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 10, 2013 3:12 pm

Alex Len is being considered by the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top overall pick. Like Nerlens Noel, Len is currently injured and unable to work out for teams.

Some scouts have compared Len to Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

"I have the biggest upside in this draft among the big guys," he said. "Maybe 10 years from now, I'll be the best player in this draft."

Seems like he has a long way to go to me. Igluaskas is probably a good comparison and that's not going to get you best player in this draft.

If you look at the teams that have been successful in the NBA playoffs, they have been the teams that play the best defense. Nerlens is easily the best defender in this draft. I would take him in a heart beat ACL or no ACL.

i agree with him.

but the problem is that injury.

he should not focus on adding too much weight - that will only increase the likelihood of another stress fracture.

focus instead on core strength, which will give him what he is looking for while actually improving his hops, speed.

The problem is his ankles guys... having brittle ankles that young, being that big? This guy is destined to become a 40-50 game/yr player. If that. A stress fracture at 20? Yikes.
