Clippers Continue Bledsoe For Afflalo Talks With Magic, Waiting On Better Offer

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 20, 2013 1:03 am

The Los Angeles Clippers have held ongoing talks with the Orlando Magic on a trade involving Eric Bledsoe for Arron Afflalo.

The Clippers prefer to hold onto Bledsoe in the interim in hopes of landing a better offer, according to sources.

Afflalo is owed $23 million over the next three seasons.

What's so appealing about Afflalo? The Clippers are getting Courtney Lee in the Celtics' trade if that follows through. They are the same size, same age, and Lee is getting paid less. Lee is more athletic, shot a better percentage from the 3, and plays just as good defense as Afflalo does. The only reason I see the Clippers doing this trade is to shed Butler's contract, other than that, this doesn't make any sense to me.

AA and CLee are nowhere the same on D, and on a team where AA is not drawing constant doubles as the only shooter he will light 'em up. AA played on a bottom dwelling Magic last season and brought it every game like we were contending for home court advantage.

The difference between AA and Lee, is fairly big. one is a legitimate starting 2, and 1 is a backup

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

AA+Moore for Bledsoe+butler is a fair trade

Afflalo's been mailing it in since he signed his big contract, even back in DEN.

Only the two of the worst managed teams in the league would have ever considered trading for him: ORL and LAC.

At least ORL has learned their lesson and is trying to correct their mistake.
