Andrew Bynum Ready To Resume Basketball Activities Next Week

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jun 25, 2013 4:48 pm

Andrew Bynum is ready to resume basketball workouts next week.

Bynum's agent, David Lee, told the Associated Press on Monday that there's "not a concern in the world" that Bynum will be ready for training camp.

The Philadelphia 76ers have not held any discussions with Bynum's agent.

Bynum will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason after missing the entire 13-14 NBA season.

About the same time free agency begins? How convenient that his injury was kind enough to be healed by then.

the sad part is come free agency, GMs are going to completely forget how this guys shafted the Sixers and still give him a boat load of money. Its a funny world we live in when a kid straight outta high school with no college education can jerk around million dollar corporations

I don't know about that. With the new CBA and a whole new generation of GMs, with their backgrounds being analytics and the San Antonio school, there may be less inclination to give Andrew what he wants - a max contract all guaranteed for the maximum years. Of course, all it takes is one Billy King, but his type seem to be all maxed out in luxury tax land or pursuing Dwight Howard. My guess is that Andrew's best offer will be for four years (three guaranteed, with a buyout provision in the fourth) at a mid range salary and heavy on the performance bonuses that could result in compensation close to the max.

I meant to say performance incentives, since I don't think straight bonuses are allowed.

This agent is such a douche and is perfect for Bynum who is likewise a douche. A guy who couldn't even suit up last year now has "no doubt" about his ability to be ready for training camp? Sure it doesn't have to do with the fact that he needs a contract?

"Hey if he's ready to salsa dance he's definitely ready for basketball"

Stealing money from a team counts as 'basketball activities' right?

of course he is.
long enough to get another contract
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
