Hakeem, Harden To Join Rockets' Recruiting Pitch For Dwight Howard

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jun 29, 2013 6:14 pm

Hakeem Olajuwon and James Harden will join members of the Houston Rockets' front office and Kevin McHale in their recruiting pitch to Dwight Howard.

The Rockets are reportedly one of the frontrunners to sign Howard this offseason.

Howard is considering leaving the Los Angeles Lakers where he did not enjoy playing in Mike D'Antoni's offense.

10 years from now he's going to reflect on how many teams he's left and bridges he's burned..

Houston foremost is a football town -- the Texans, high school and college. After that, because of the ethnic makeup of the city, it is a soccer town. No one cares about the Rockets or the minor league baseball team. The Rockets don't even sell out most games and the fans that do show up are just Texans fans waiting for the next game.

The only way he can potentially make up for all of this is winning a championship in his prime, winning cures everything.

you are a very positive person? Arent you?
At certain moments, always unforeseen, I become happy…
I look at strangers near as if I had known them all my life…
everything fills me with affection…
It may be an hour before the mood passes,
but ultimately I seem to understand

no more space in sig

i don't like the idea of the rockets meeting him first...i think they should've scheduled it sometime next week...you want to leave the last impression being the last one or next to the last one since the lakers will have the final talk with him.

From a psychological perspective, when it comes to a list, you always remember best what was first and last. This theory seems inline with who we thought the frontrunners would be (Rockets & Lakers)

Don't be ridiculous. Soccer town? ethnic makeup of the city? No one cares about the Rockets? Not my experience at all. Houston is in general can be a bit soulless and dull, maybe this is what you are unknowingly referring to?

LA doesn't have a football team? Doesn't have a college team? Doesn't have ethnic fans who like soccer? What the Rockets do have is a coach that can actually coach rather than a clown that has been living off his luck in being the coach of Steve Nash for a few years. Howard is signing with the Rockets. Deal with it.
