Wow... this contract makes no sense at all. Not for Millssap at least.

He's 28 years old. Why would he settle for a 2-year contract? He should've gone for a 4-year deal. When he hits free agency again, he'll be 30. Terrible deal for him.

Probably a Player Option, or he's taking the David West route.

I can't make sense of any of the Hawks moves...maybe they're trying to go for a big front court if they acquire Asik from the Rockets in a S&T. C-Asik PF-Horford SF-Milsap SG-Carroll PG-Teague (or Lin)?

You're probably right. He did have a so-so season. Probably wants to boost his value first, then opt out next summer for a bigger contract.

Millsap won't be their 3 he's more likey to be their 6th man. 3 big rotation. Horford can slide to the 5 when Asik needs a break and to the 4 when Millsap does. But the Hawks dont even have Asik or Lin so who knows whats going down. Right now, it looks like the Hawks went after some depth first.

I wish Masai had actively pursued him :/ we have a thin front line.

I agree.
One thing's for sure, they seem to have put an end to all of that "tank" talk.
