Ill say it again... Who's going to take more shots this season, Drik, Monta, George Zimmerman or Aaron Hernandez?

Trick question, it's Stephen Jackson.

It sure will be interesting how coach Carlislie will work the rotation with this influx of guards. Calderon, Carter, Harris, Ellington, and now Ellis will already be a challenge managing playing time, let alone working in the rookies Larkin and Mekel. Barring a trade, I guess the latter two will be spending the entire season in the D-league.

seems like dallas is trying to reload on the fly after striking out on the dwight howard sweepstakes...however none of these people they're signing are franchise or allstar type players. i see dallas as a fringe playoff contender again.

So they basically traded OJ for Monta. Looks like a pretty lateral move.

You go from O.J. Mayo to Monta Ellis?
I'm not seeing a whole lot of difference there.

Completely agree, and they are doing it all wrong. Being a fringe playoff contender is the last thing a team with an aging star like Dirk needs, and now Monte's just gonna eat up some of their cap room for next year. I hate Monta and love Dirk though so my bias makes me dislike this signing as well.

The headline is misleading. If you read the link to Marc Stein's article he says the contract is for at least $25 million. Nowhere in the article does it say $30 million. I read somewhere else, maybe a Stein tweet, that if there is any cap room left after filling its remaining roster spots, most notably a center, if there's any money left under the cap, it would go to Monta, up to $30 million. But in reality, I doubt he'll ever see more than $25 million.

It's either fringe playoffs (with a chance at success) or a complete rebuild (letting Dirk whither away). Why exactly won't Dirk take this chance again??? Considering his options, this is the last shot at Dallas being relevant in his career. Or would you rather him rebuild for the next 3-5 years... BTW, Dirk is like 35...
