Hakeem Olajuwon will join the Houston Rockets as an official employee.

Olajuwon has expensively tutored many of the NBA's players during the offseason in Houston and will continue that work with the Rockets.

“We are going to bring him in as full-time as is possible,” Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said Sunday. “It’s not done, but we have mutual interest to get it done, and we’ve had some early discussions.

“We want him to work with Dwight (Howard) and Omer (Asik), and he wants to do that.”

Considering he charges $50,000 per week for private lessons, I'm sure Howard and Asik's bank accounts are cheering for this move

Judging by how well he looked in the youtube vids, he could come off the bench and take minutes from them.

I think what they meant to say was "we have hired Hakeem Olajuwon in a Offensive Dwight Development Role".

wel all things considered, Hakeem doesn't do the training year round I assume. Just in the offseason.

Even if he trained a player a week for the entire year, thats $5.2 million.

A lot of money, but not ridiculous

This guy could probably suit up and drop 15/8/2 even now.

This is part of Dwights deal, he didn't want to have to keep paying to make himself better, wanted it given to him as usual.

Where did you read that? Because the multiple sources I've read say otherwise

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball- ... --nba.html

http://sulia.com/channel/new-york-knick ... ce=twitter

Amar'e paid $100k for two weeks, not one, aka $50k/week.
