Pistons Inquire With Bucks On Brandon Jennings Sign-And-Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 16, 2013 7:34 pm

The Detroit Pistons have discussed a sign-and-trade with the Milwaukee Bucks for Brandon Jennings.

Jennings is a restricted free agent and has a $4.5 million qualifying offer on the table from the Bucks.

Jennings is reportedly seeking a four-year, $48 million contract and whether he wants to return to the Bucks is in doubt.

watch hammond/kohl blow this one too.
Somewhat relatedly, a criticism I would make of Stotts is that he's gotten away from the 3point attempt too much. - Epicurus

I guess Joe Dumars will never learn. He just has to spend all his money.

Dumars stated that he's never talked with the Bucks regarding Jennings. He also acknowledged talking with the Celtics about Rondo, but not for Knight.

Joe Dumars does not care anymore and probably wants to retire. But he does not want to quit on his own terms.

During his tenure the Pistons went to 6 ECFs, 2 NBA Finals, 1 NBA Championship. Maybe due to loyalty to the Pistons he probably wants to leave.

what the hell makes jennings think he's better than jrue holiday, steph curry, tyreke evans or ty lawson. If I was a gm, I'd give jennings 4 years 40 million with incentives that could reach to 44 million total. Jennings salary should be on par with other point guards at his level. Dumars is and idiot, jennings/smith will be the new gordon/villaneueva.

Brandon Jennings will be a better fit with the Josh Smith- Drummond - Monroe , crew that is great on defense but almost take the same positions on offense. BJ brings a potential high octane offense from the backcourt that will balance out and may even improve along side the glut of slashers and low post scorers Josh Smith- Drummond - Monroe .

I like the potential deal of Jennings way more than the thought of Rondo who cannot shoot inability would look even worse next to Josh Smith- Drummond - Monroe

jennings obviously wants to get paid but if he's not careful he will price himself out of the market. milsap is underpaid, apparently his agent was asking for too much and all the power forwards got signed which left him little options.

If Joe Dumar wants to rebuild the Palace of Auburn Hills, Brandon Jennings is definitely the guy to do it. His specialty is a fine, smooth brick basket weave pattern. Very decorative for many NBA fans to see

FIRE DUMARS BEFORE HE DOES ANYMORE DAMAGE TO THE PISTONS. Rondo yes, Jennings no. Jennings shoots for a low % and plays no defense, just the opposite of Rondo. Josh Smith & Brandon Jennings is a Charlie V. & Ben Gordon waiting to happen. Dumars does not want to compete with other teams next year when the free agents in 2014 are much better. the same thing he did 5 years ago. Also, he will make the Pistons just good enough to miss out on some of the best entering rookies the league has seen in 20 years. He saves his job and screws the Pistons and his new owner.

Jennings isn't as bad as he's given credit for, his secondary %s are good, he just for some odd reason can't finish at the rim in the NBA. He's also a solid defender for his size and has a low turnover rate. That said, he wouldn't be the 1st or 2nd option on a contending team, ever. If you swapped him with Chalmers, Miami could make it 5 or 6 straight titles. If his option is for less than $5 mill they might be able to make it happen...god they better not make it happen.

A "career" 39.4% FG%. He's basically a really **** A.I without the athleticism. These super inefficient small guards are ALL overrated. Even Chris Paul to some extent.
