Good pickup if he's somewhat consistent.

This one stings for Indiana. Outside of inexperience (no longer a problem because they got SOooo much experience in this years' playoffs) and turnovers, their only weakness was their bench production, and now they lose their best ball-handler and shooter off their bench. I'm rooting for Orlando Johnson to improve but he'll never be a distributor; right now with only George Hill and Ben Hansbrough at the PG spot they've got among the least depth at that position in the league.

Were the Pacers unable or unwilling to re-sign him? For him to take a 1-year contract with Toronto of all places makes it seem like Augustin couldn't have stayed even if he wanted to.

They signed CJ Watson and Donald Sloan. Watson is better than DJ.

This is great for Toronto. I can't wait to see them this season. The new GM has def taken the right steps to rebuild this team acquiring talent, something Brian coloangelo failed to do.

Why so sensitive? I'm not knocking Toronto, just sayin' I can't see too many people being all that pumped about going from the Eastern Conference Finals to a lottery team, on a 1-year deal.

Good luck DJ, I'm afraid Indiana won't miss you though. Decent ball handler but the primary reason our bench production was so low in my view. He never settled with us and often looked like the odd one out. Nice guy though and I hope he works out in Toronto.

It's a one year deal. He probably signed in Toronto because he's seen what has happened to the careers of guys who have been here as backup PG's (Jarret Jack anyone?).

It's not a bad deal for either side. Augustin gets some playing time with a coaching staff that appreciates defense and penetration on offence as opposed to the John Lucas approach to offence. Toronto gets a fairly young PG who has something to prove on a one year deal.
