Dumars: Pistons 'Open To Whatever' Moves For Improvement

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 29, 2013 5:00 pm

Joe Dumars has not closed any avenues to improve the Detroit Pistons, but he has made it clear that Andre Drummond is as close to untouchable as there is.

"We’re open to whatever, but it doesn’t mean you’re going to do the deal," Dumars said. "There’s a pecking order of things we would and wouldn’t do.

"Drummond is one the guys we’re certainly not looking to move at all."

The Pistons have an abundance of power forwards.

"I’m open to whatever — whatever is going to make us better," Dumars said. "That’s probably as much as I can say."

Dear Joe,

The guy who would make you better is Evan Turner.

Signed,

Sixer fans who are tired of Evan Turner and know Dumars has a history of overpaying bad and mediocre players

The Raptors would love to take him off your hands rofl. He doesn't seem half as bad you guys claim him to be.

Also Dumars said this in an attempt to land some sort of player who may save his job.

This just in: Dumars has no idea what he's doing and is allowed to say he's ready to grasp at straws.

Joe's made his share of bad acquisitions, but what GM hasn't. He has made some good acquisitions over the years as well, namely NBA Championships; as both a player, and more relevantly, as a GM.
What's funny is when fans of other teams (Raptors and 76er's in this case) run their mouths about a GM who has accomplished more in thirteen years than either the last 30 years of the 76ers, or the entire existence of the Raptors...
The Piston's are on their way back up. When all is said and done, Detroit will be contending sooner than either of those other two named teams. Joe Dumars has completely reinvented the Pistons, and there will be money to continue next summer. Oh, and lets see what our two expiring contracts net us at the deadline.
And BTW, Josh Smith was a solid pickup. Don't know what you are smoking.
