Mike Budenholzer Arrested For DUI

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Aug 29, 2013 2:55 pm

Mike Budenholzer was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol overnight and charged with driving under the influence.

A trooper stopped Budenholzer about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on 10th Street at Crescent Avenue in Midtown because the Audi A8 he was driving didn’t have the tail lights on, according to the State Patrol incident report.

“As I spoke with him, I noticed that he had bloodshot and watery eyes and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath,” Trooper Johnathon Nelms wrote in his report. "I asked Mr. Budenholzer how much alcohol he had and he advised that he had one glass of wine to drink prior to driving."

After giving Budenholzer a field sobriety test, Nelms placed the coach under arrest.

“I requested a breath test and Mr. Budenholzer refused the breath test by giving a verbal ‘No’,” Nelms said.

Budenholzer was released on bond of $1,524 at 3:24 a.m. Thursday.

Budenholzer became the Atlanta Hawks' head coach this offseason after serving 19 years as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs.

“Bud made us aware of the situation last night," Danny Ferry said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment at the appropriate time.”

Wow, the personnel on the Hawks roster drove the coach to drink? There's a shocker...

Most likely because you could probably shoot someone in San Antonio and get away with it if you're in the Spurs organization. Hick town.

Do you have a link? Because that's nowhere on MyFoxAtlanta.com, and the only "source" I can see quoting it is Bleacher Report, which links to a MyFoxAtlanta article... that doesn't mention drugs at all.
