Newton: Wizards Ignored Suggestions, Made Mistakes

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Sep 10, 2013 8:56 pm

Milt Newton was introduced as general manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.

Newton was a longtime member of the Washington Wizards' front office reporting to Ernie Grunfeld.

Newton commented that the Wizards ignored some of his suggestions and made mistakes.

The Wizards haven't reached the playoffs since 2008.

Flip clearly hiring the guy because he knows him and seems like a swell guy. From a professional standpoint, it doesn't add up. If Newton had a hand in the Wizards draft, then he doesn't know what he's doing. If he didn't have a hand in the draft selections, then he's not qualified to be a GM.
