Showtime Developing Scripted Show With Lakers' Brass As Producers

Showtime is developing a one-hour scripted show about a professional basketball team, focused on the family that runs it.


Kurt Rambis, Phil Jackson, Jeanie Buss and Linda Rambis are serving as executive producers.


Ron Shelton, who made Bull Durham and White Men Can't Jump, will be the showrunner.

The last time the Lakers were on a premium channel Larry David tripped and injured Shaq.

I hope this show is good. I will watch probably either way to see if they write anything about my Lakers into it.

Pat Riley paid for the copyright to the term "three-peat" in the eighties. I would have thought, surely, he had done the same for "Showtime."
