Clippers Replace Lakers' Title Banners For Home Games At Staples Center

None of the Los Angeles Lakers' banners -- championship, retired or special ones -- will be displayed by the Los Angeles Clippers when they play home games at Staples Center.

Making their exhibition debut for the 2013-14 season on Friday, seven oversized Clippers banners hide every bit of the Lakers' storied history.

From left to right, banners of Jamal Crawford, Blake Griffin, J.J. Redick, DeAndre Jordan, Jared Dudley, Chris Paul and Matt Barnes overlook the arena.

The Clippers are poised to win the Pacific Divison this season.

I think its time for the clippers to get their own arena if they have such a problem with the banners

who's arena is it if they both have home games there?

They never do. When they play each other one team is home and one is away, even though they have the same arena. They change the floor (and banners) to whichever team is the "home" team

They actually sometimes do, on Sundays. One team would play an early afternoon game (say from 1 to 3:30), and then the other team will have a late game (from 9:30 or something).

What exactly have the Clippers won to put up 7 big banners?

Edit: I knew it, just found a pic where they put up 7 players like CP3 and other players. :lol:

I find it pretty ridiculous and would be pissed if I were a Laker fan. Is it really necessary? Why are they doing this now and haven't the past decade? Because the Clippers are good (but still haven't won anything impressive)?

When that happens they do the arena turn around, and switch the court

Great idea DOC!! Clipper fans don't want to see that bs at our home games.
