Rondo Will Return As Soon As He Can Dunk Again Off Right Leg

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Oct 24, 2013 3:39 pm

Rajon Rondo expects to return this season from his ACL surgery, but he is not yet sure when.

“Whenever I’m able to jump off my right leg and probably dunk, that’s when I think I’ll be back to play,” Rondo said.

Rondo is not allowed to do contract drills, but he did just get fitted for his first brace.

Rondo said his right leg is at about 87 percent, “give or take, depending on how my day goes.”

Rondo wants to return as his old self.

“If they want me to ease into it — it’s going to be hard to tell me to ease into something,” he said. “Once I get back out there, I want to go full speed. I don’t want any limitation. That’s when I’ll return, when I’m able to do that."

Trade him while his stock is still high.

Rondo, as always, had tongue firmly planted in cheek.

Love how he trolls the media. And a not-so-subtle shot at Derrick Rose, to boot.

His stock is at an all time low right now. No one is going to give up anything of value for him until he's healthy and get a chance to see him play again. If they are going to trade him they are better off waiting until he comes back and plays well. They would be minimizing what they could get in return for him if they traded him right now.

Good call. Rondo and Rose do NOT like each other.

It's amazing how many dumb people out there think Rondo will get traded sometime soon. I guess it's true that wishful thinking blinds people. People are dreaming of getting him for their trash. Get real, lol.

The Celtics are obviously going to try to build around him for a few years. For now he's their guy LEAST likely to be traded, just like Pierce was at at the start of the 2003 rebuild. They'll only trade Rondo a few years from now if they can't seem to put a contender around him, just like they were only going to trade Pierce finally if they struck out in Summer 2007 instead of landing Kevin and Ray.
