Timberwolves Management Stops Rookies From Wearing Children Backpacks

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Nov 11, 2013 7:50 pm

The Minnesota Timberwolves' front office informed players that they no longer wanted rookies to wear child-themed backpacks.

"They actually said they don't want us carrying them, but I understand with the stuff going on with the football thing," Shabazz Muhammad said. "They want to be separate from that. . . . Now I think rookie hazing won't exist anymore."

Muhammad had been issued a Jonas Brothers backpack to wear on trips.

Just another step towards the pussification of Americans. Next they should stop tracking the scores so that everyone's a winner.

Unreal. For professional PAID athletes to cry about being bullied is the final straw in me saying america has turned into a bunch of crybabies! Seriously!

Every team will get a consolation trophy and some ribbons just for playing.

Wearing a kid's backpack as part of hazing is harmless fun. I agree that a line should be drawn, but not this.

Pretty stupid. The backpack stuff wasn't a big deal IMO.

Of course you do realize the irony of highly paid professionals engaging in this sort of stupid frat/playground nonsense in the first place right.

This is a reasonable opinion. Thank you for not succumbing to the sensationalism other posters have.

So Shabazz complained to management about how it's preventing him from getting laid? ;)

Have you ever been in a day in and day out locker room enviroment before? You prank, joke, cut up with each other on a daily basis. In alot of cases it bonds the team together. Sure it can go to far and should be dealt with but our society is taking this too far. I can understand watching out for young kids and keeping that under strict watch but adults?
