Rockets Sought Two First Round Picks, Swap In Third Draft From Bobcats For Omer Asik

The Houston Rockets sought two first round picks in a deal for Omer Asik, according to a report from Alan Hahn of MSG.

Zach Lowe of Grantland reports that the Rockets also wanted the right to swap first round picks in a third draft with the team in question being the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Rockets are motivated to trade Asik by Dec. 19.

Any good negotiator starts by asking for the world lol. Obviously MJ leaked this because the negotiations broke down. Biyombo, MKG, the Detroit pick, and the Portland pick for Asik and Parsons could make a lot of sense though. Charlotte can follow it up by flipping Hendo for Thornton and a future pick. Or combine that into a 3 way deal somehow. Houston will get a decent package for Asik, but I agree 3 firsts just for him does seem excessive.

Hahahaha Asik's value is horrible right now, they should have trade him ages ago if they wanted any value, now they want a Millsap swap but Millsap is playing like an All Star, Atlanta will want more than Asik in that swap, probably a pick or a prospect.

Considering the circumstances Houston asking for even one first round pick from Charlotte is 'asking for the world'

asking for 3 is just asking to get laughed off the line.

Fair enough.
Think about that, then think about how he has transformed the Rockets from Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin into Dwight Howard and James Harden in 15 months. All while remaining under the luxury tax and still holding tradable assets for further moves.

Asik is a top 5 center in the NBA. The guy is a very good player. Nobody obviously watched the Rockets last year :roll:
