Thaddeus Young, David Lee Named Players Of Week

Thaddeus Young and David Lee have been named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 30, through Sunday, Jan. 5.


Young helped the Philadelphia 76ers to a 3-0 week, with all three wins coming on the road. He averaged a conference-best 25.0 points on .566 shooting from the field (ninth in the conference), 7.7 rebounds, and tied for the league lead with 3.67 steals.


Lee averaged 24.5 points (sixth in the conference), 10.5 rebounds (sixth in the conference) and 3.5 assists in helping the Golden State Warriors to a 4-0 week.

David Lee is playing out of his mind right now. He got to be in the All-Star game.

In a different year maybe. This year there's at least half a dozen Western bigs ahead of him. Its crazy. Did you notice that even in his big week he was actually only 6th in scoring and rebounding? In the last week Durant averaged 32.5 and 8, Love averaged 29.0 and 10.3, Cousins averaged 25.3 and 13.7, Aldridge averaged 23.0 and 12.8..its just a crazy year for bigs in the West. Maybe the strongest year since the early 2000s.
