Frank Vogel To Coach Eastern Conference All-Star Team

Frank Vogel of the Indiana Pacers will be the head coach of the NBA's Eastern Conference All-Star team in February.

Vogel clinched the role with the Pacers' victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.

The Pacers are 30-7 -- three games over the second-seeded Miami Heat and 10 1/2 games over the third-seeded Toronto Raptors.

Vogel took over as Pacers head coach midway through the 2010-11 season.

lol they should have made this announcement like a month ago since the east is so bad and spolestra isn't even allowed to repeat as allstar game head coach two seasons in a row. Now lets see if pacers can get 4 allstars onto the team this season like boston did in 2011. Paul George, Roy Hibbert, David West and Lance Stephenson all deserve to be on the team in the weak east.

David West was playing better than hibbert before last year's all star game and would have made it if garnett didn't take up a spot due to loopsided fan voting. I think coaches would have picked west over brook lopez because they consider winning and brooklyn was awful and fired their coach. Than stern selected lopez as the injury replacement because it probably would have looked bad if the nets had no allstar representation in their inaugral year in brooklyn.

I'd love to see demarcus cousins in the game but i feel the coaches are going to treat him like josh smith and snub him for bad sportsmanship and behaviour. He pulled team-mates away from high fiving cp3 and jj reddick in two separate losses.

Kobe, Cp3 and Westbrook likely not selected by coaches or if voted in as starters will sit out and have injury replacements.

4 all-stars for the Pacers? Nah. PG and Hibbert with maybe Lance, but that's it. If David West gets in than Paul Millsap should get in aswell, since he is playing well also.
