Wow at Kyrie Irving. Most overrated player in the league.

I would take a wild guess and say the one who is leading the league in assists. Even though he is currently injured I figured the casuals would still vote the player who has been the undisputed best point guard in the last 7 years. With the exception of Rose's MVP year

I see where you coming from. In that case, of course CP3 should headline as one of the starters for the Western Conference. If Kobe can be part of the starting headline for the West along with Curry, Love, Durant, and Griffin, why not CP3? At the same time, Griffin got the start over probably the best PF or the second best PF in the game in LaMarcus. NBA All-Star game is nothing, but a popularity contest.

Kobe, Wade, and Irving getting voted in as starters is why fan voting needs to count for less, if it counts at all. Kobe hasn't played, Wade seemingly skips every other game, and Irving has been highly overrated.

Also what's up with the lineups?

Lebron/Melo/George/Wade/Irving
vs.
Griffin/Love/Durant/[Kobe's replacement]/Curry

How does that work? The East is absolutely tiny! The "bigs" are small forwards.

You're worried about Curry getting in over an injured Chris Paul when Kobe got in over hundreds of more deserving players that played more than 6 crappy games this year?

Roy Hibbert will replace Dwayne Wade due to injuries. East every bit as big as West.

All Star voting is fixed by the league anyway. Theres no way lebron receives the "Most" votes every year. He's hated by more people than he's liked.

And there's no way kevin love was voted on the team over Dwight Howard or Tim Duncan. Don't believe that for a second.

Why would they rig it so Kobe who isnt playing gets the most votes?

the allstar voting is just another "Ratings" system the nba uses to see what sells and what the people want. It is basically a survey fans fill out that gives the nba quantifiable numbers and statistics that many companies would pay millions of dollars for to do market research on their consumers. They even have multiple platforms they use to get fans' votes (internet, smartphone, texting, twitter etc...) and this helps them do market research to determine what platforms sell more and what the consumer is using to "consume" the nba at what times etc...
its all BS. the allstar game used to mean something and even though the defense always sucked the players used to actually compete in the good old days...

LOOL .. he will get it eventually
"We're like Tim Duncan and David Robinson," Villanueva said, following the team's morning shootaround at the America West Arena. "But a younger version. I really feel that."

The dwightmare has caused dwight's popularity amongst the general nba fan population to tank. Dwight may have gotten 653,318 votes but people forget that he plays in houston and is benefiting from the linsanity china vote this year like harden did last season and this year. How else has harden gotten more votes than tony parker and westbrook the past two seasons despite not being as popular as the latter two players. So the north american votes for dwight are probably way less than ever before. Dwight was the top vote getter in the league multiple times in the past and had been voted in a starter 6 consecutive times till today. The only times he hasn't started in the game were his rookie season when he wasn't selected and his sophmore season where he was not voted in and was the coaches' pick as a reserve. I also know adidas is probably pissed at this news and d12's shoe deal like wade has incentive pay if he is voted in as a starter by fans and plays in the game. I hope this snub motivates dwight to be a better player and re- enter mvp conversations while sweeeping defensive player of the year awards like he did earlier in his career. I remember before KD emerged as the league's consensus #2 player that Dwight had that spot and was also one of the most liked players in the association.
