Nerlens Noel Looks Impressive In Individual Drills

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Feb 7, 2014 7:24 pm

Nerlens Noel put on an impressive display of drills for about 30 minutes on Thursday following the Philadelphia 76ers' practice.

Noel is rehabbing his surgically repaired left knee.

"You can see, even though it's just sort of shadow boxing, you can't help to see how quick he jumps, his athleticism, his length," said Brett Brown. "It is exciting to just look out there and see what you project to be. He doesn't appear to favor [the knee] at all. Things are going well. All those things that we have to get through in order to at some point get him on a court, are going well."

Noel's next steps will be playing with others and then against players.

Not necessarily Wiggins but I think any of the top prospects would fit well. When youve got a great PG and a shotblocking center its not hard to find pieces that fit

Like a Larry Sanders or Ben Wallace type I would think. Last time I checked, he didn't have much of an offensive game but he could be a game changer on the defensive side of the ball.

He also runs the floor as good as a PG. Think of Dikembe Mutombo except with good hand eye coordination, speed, and quickness.

The key here for me is to rework his shooting mechanics, which from reports is making significant progress.

Underrated aspects of his game are his ballhandling and passing skills.

Personally, I see him as a Serge Ibaka type player. Hopefully, he'll be as good of an offensive player like ibaka.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Huh?

Anyway, considering the fact that his interviews show he is smart...

Not entirely true. He displayed a strong ability toward straight-line drives using either hand and finishing with either hand. Also, he's a pretty good passer as well. A better comp would be Noah, in my opinion

I think he'll be more like Noah meets Chandler/Stat than Ibaka, given how Brown is developing him. Ibaka's biggest offensive strength is his mid-range J, while Noel's strengths will likely be finishing off Screen/Rolls, face-up drives and passing.

Strange wording.

The first step is playing 5-0 drills, then he'll play 5v5

sit this dude out the whole season so that he can qualify for the rookie class next season.

there's also no reason to rush him back and have him hurt even more.

take the blake griffin approach, it will pay off.

MCW, Nole, whoever the sixers draft this year.

They also have the pieces to either keep or trade in Hawes, Turner, Young.

Not a bad way to rebuild.
