Charlie Villanueva Hopeful Of Buyout From Pistons

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Feb 21, 2014 6:45 pm

Charlie Villanueva is hopeful of receiving a contract buyout from the Detroit Pistons before March 1.

Villanueva has already been paid two-thirds of his contract this season. He is in the final year of his deal.

“Anything’s possible. Right now, it is what it is,” Villanueva said. “I wish I could help this team in any way possible, but they’re going in a different direction. It’s part of the business, but if it presented itself, that’s something we’d look at, for sure.”

Villanueva was one of the few players who didn’t participate in a team boycott of a 2011 shoot-around in Philadelphia a day after the trade deadline.

“I’ve thought about that (stuff). But there’s always a right and wrong way to do things, and I’ll always do the right thing,” Villanueva said. “I’m a professional. It’s a privilege to play in this league. My situation ain’t so bright right now.”

This guy is possibly one of the worst players in the NBA. How long has he been rotting in Detroit now?
On Gerald Henderson vs Derozan:
"Yes. Hendo is quite a bit better than DeMar.
So yes, I do believe he's currently the better player and do project that will continue to be in the future. I would also take Turner over DD."

I don't know who would pick him up.

I could see the Spurs doing it? They like fat guys who can shoot. Look at Diaw.

Errr....if I was him I'd hold out for the remainder. He'll be lucky to be in the league next year period, can't see any contender wasting their time with him this season.

Why would this guy be hopeful of a buyout for? Nobody is going to waste a roster spot on this scrub.

Obviously he doesn't realise he's in the situation he's in because he hasn't played well individually. Nobody is stopping him but him. If his production was sound and he was genuinely able to help the Pistons, he'd be playing.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.
