Timberwolves Plan To Be Active On Offseason Trade Market

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Apr 12, 2014 6:27 pm

The Minnesota Timberwolves plan to trade for help in the offseason after missing out on the playoffs once again.

Glen Taylor said the Timberwolves won't make a "big" trade.

The Timberwolves moved to 40-39 after beating the Houston Rockets on Friday.

Lmao! Sike. The Knicks are screwed until all the bad contracts are off the books (Bargnani, Amar'e, Chandler, and J.R.) plus no first round draft pick until next year.

I'm sure they mean they want to get some help for Love. Problem is, they have no asset to acquire that kind of help. Well... maybe Pekovic. Anyway, I suspect they will probably end up trading Love.

Love to Chicago rumors are gaining traction. There was already a report that said he wanted to play in new york, la or chicago if he leaves Minnesota. Bulls are the only ones with multiple draft picks and young players to send the wolves way in exchange for love in a trade. Bulls also have the expiring contract of carlos boozer that can be used as a trade chip for the bulls to absorb some of minny's bad contracts like jj barea and kevin martin along with love in a salary dump. If wolves lose love, they likely want to rebuild from the bottom.

Phoenix says hello and they don't need to add a full expiring to make a deal work but do have expiring's if taking on a bad contract is necessary.

The trade idea fans made up of Rubio and Pekovic for Love (as the starting point) would make the most sense from both sides.

At least the Wolves are aware that their current roster is imbalanced and they are trying to fix it.

Lol what " young players" and "multiple draft picks" are you talking about ? You do realize it's going to take more than a few 2nd rounders and last first round picks fromt the Luol Deng trade to get Love right ? They will probably want something close to what Utah got for Deron Wiliams. WHo does Chicago even have that Minnesota would want ? THe only player I could think of is Noah or Butler and it wouldn't make sense for the Bulls to trade either of them. Your post is ridiculous.
"We're like Tim Duncan and David Robinson," Villanueva said, following the team's morning shootaround at the America West Arena. "But a younger version. I really feel that."

They won't be trading Love this offseason.

It's more likely that with the development of Dieng that Pek may be worth trading for consistent wing shooting (unless they plan to bring Pek off the bench to keep Love and Pek with shotblockers).

And1, this would be at best a neutral trade for the Wolves (if the CBA allows trades within the same organization).

they aren't getting anything thatll help that team unless they make a "big trade". The only player worth going after is Dieng and why the hell would they give him up...they need to split Love and Pek up and they desperately need another scorer since Rubio clearly doesn't have that...or maybe they look at moving Rubio, he should still have some value...its amazing how many lotto picks they've had in the past 7 years and really have nothing to show for it other than Love and Rubio, who clearly aren't good enough to take them to the promise land

Bulls have Charlotte's first rounder this year in addition to their own. They also own nikola mirotic's draft rights- he would be a top 5 pick in this year's draft. Gar Forman already said that every player on the bulls roster will be entertained in trades except for noah and rose.
