Rockets To Sign Josh Powell

The Houston Rockets will sign Josh Powell to a multi-year contract, according to sources.

Powell's contract for next season will be non-guaranteed, which sets up the possibility of a trade.

Yes since he wasn't cut by an NBA team after March 1.

Rather see Robert Covington get some burn at PF though but if Powell can play some center then great.

I assume he will give Jones/Howard a couple of minutes break per game. Hold it down defensively, 2nd-chance buckets and grab a few rebounds - they don't need more than that for him.

in college Powell had a reliable jumper out to the college three point line. If he ever gets that back in the pro's he'll be a decent 3rd string big. Until then he's really pretty marginal, though I love his effort and I have a soft spot for him as an NC State fan.

Wow haven't seen this guy in a while. Those are decent Chinese league stats though, might make an impact.

I never understood why Powell did not stick with any NBA team. I liked his game when he was with The Lakers.

He is the LMA stopper, so that is why the Rockets brought him in...lol
