Kyrie Irving Doesn't Have 'Definitive Answer' On Extension

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to make a maximum five-year contract extension offer to Kyrie Irving this offseason.
"I've been a part of this and I want to continue to be a part of this," he said. "We're making strides in the right direction, especially in this organization. I want to be part of something special, and I want to be part of something special in Cleveland.
"I don't have a definitive answer to that right now, but it'll be something special. I can guarantee that."
Irving was the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
"It's a big deal for me and my family if they do offer that. It would be exciting, and I'll make the best decision for me and my family. That's what it's going to boil down to for myself."

The Cavaliers will most likely have the #9 pick during the 2014 NBA Draft. SG-Gary Harris or C-Jusuf Nurkic should be the pick for them.

Translation: I don't live playing in Cleveland, but I love 5-year max contracts.

Typical BS answer from someone who can't wait to ditch his current team for a more glamorous place. Take the money, then demand a trade. Act like a spoiled brat until they accommodate you.

You sure it is the place?
Could be the management.

Some of you need to seriously get over the "no one likes being in Cleveland" routine, its getting pretty tiresome. Is that all you can come up with anymore?
It's not the city, its the franchise. LeBron himself loved being in Cleveland. It's the team he left, not the city.
As for Kyrie, the team might be bad, but guess what, a lot of that is because of him. He's a shoot first, very overrated player that's dreadful on defense. The team itself looks just as good, hell, sometimes better without him!
I'm not saying he's not a very talented player, but he's very far from being one of the truly great players in this league.
I'm a Cav fan, I don't hate Kyrie,I just think he's done so little to even be worth so much attention. Great players are supposed to make teams better. He doesn't make us better. A lot of his stats more times than not are just empty stats.
Until Kyrie himself grows, the team is just always going to be blah. Maybe he's just not a franchise player at all, which might be true. He might be the second or third guy on a really good team.

What do you see as wrong with the Tristan Thompson pick? Just because he was taken 4th doesn't mean they had a better option.
Based on where most scouts were projecting the 2011 draft class, who would you suggest they should have taken in his stead? Maybe Valanciunas (picked 5th)?
#6 Jan Vesely?
#7 Bismack Biombo?
#8 Brandon Knight ?
#9 Kemba Walker in the same draft as Irving #1?
#10 Jimmer Fredette?
You have to go all the way to #11 to find a guy in Klay Thompson who MAYBE could've warranted the 5th pick based on league wide scouting
The good players in that draft were all surprises, not lottery locks:
#15 Kawhi Leonard
#22 Kenny Faried
#30 Jimmy Butler
#38 Chandler Parsons
#60 Isaiah Thomas

Valanciunas was the obvious pick. All the mocks had him going their prior to the draft. Thompson was WAY out of left field.

Thompson is Canadian, we love him too. It's just simple logic that a 2 way center is of more value than a Power Forward. Valanciunas is more efficient, better defensively, has better range, and is younger. I'm not saying Thompson is bad. I'm saying Valanciunas was obviously the right pick.

It is more certainly both. It's CLEVELAND for god's sake. Trash city.

2 way Centers are more valuable. It is extremely difficult to find a center to play beside an undersized PF who cant stretch the floor. Since drafting Thomson they made many attempts to get a starting caliber Center. They signed Bynum, they traded up to draft Zeller, traded for Spencer Hawes.
Not to mention the Bennet pick might have actually made sense if they had Valancunias at Center

More Raptors homerism stating that Valancinas is the best thing since sliced bread.
