During the first two games of their first round series, Kevin Durant is 9-for-25 (36 percent) while being guarded by Tony Allen and 10-for-18 (55.5 percent) against everyone else on the Memphis Grizzlies.

Allen missed 27 games this season while recovering from a knee issue and appears to be healthier and faster.

Allen is especially adept at avoiding screens to stick with Durant.

Tony Allen has always been a great defender. No surprise that this would be a challenge for Durant.

A should be DPOY one time in his career. This dude flat out locks down anyone. He's 6'4 & is holding Durant to 36% who's 6'10? He really really grew up & matured. Love what he's doing in Memphis, he's the main reason I love Memphis. Love when hard workers leave Boston & excel.

Quick, strong, athletic, smart defensively. Everything great about Tony Allen, except the form on the jumper  lol.

Definitely Defensive Player of the Year candidate, they should offer 1 for front court, and 1 for back court. Because those numbers are against the MVP, which is something NO ONE else can do.

Some of those plays in game 2, TA just would not be screened. Guy never ceases to amaze me.

Ladies and gentlemen, the lost art of playing great individual defense on one of the best players in the world. I think this ability needs to be just as considered as the ability to score or pass when NBA teams draft players. Durant will find a way to score in this series, but man oh man...is Tony making his life that much harder by grinding him down every...single...play.

Pretty solid game, it's a shame he moved to the bench this season when they signed Courtney Lee. He should easily be a starter as a defensive stopper.

Just wondering... why the heck would you be happy when players do well after they LEAVE Boston? Don't you want to keep your good players... :noway:
